AMR BIN QARAZA-E-ANSARI
*****************************
He is
one of the martyrs of Kerbala. His father Qaraza was a companion of Hazrat
Ali (A.S) and belonged to Khizrijian and had settled in Koofa. He took
part in the three battles fought in the reign of Hazrat Ali (A.S). Amr
came from Koofa and joined Imam Hussain (A.S) on 6th Moharram. Imam (A.S)
in his talks with Umar-e-Sa'ad used to send Amr as his representative but
these talks were stopped after Shimr(L.A) arrived from Koofa. On 10th Moharram,
Amr stood before Imam Hussain (A.S) to protect him from the arrows. He
fall on the ground because of those wounds and said to Imam Hussain (A.S),'O
son of Prophet (S.A.W)! have I proved my loyality ?' Imam (A.S) replied,'Yes,
you will go to paradise before me. Pay my regards to the Prophet (S.A.W)
and say I am following you...' Amr had his last breath. His name appears
in 'Ziarat-e-Nahya -e-Muqaddisa'. Some people belive that he was martyred
in the battlefield after fighting.
